The Federation of Canadian Turkish Associations (FCTA) continues to support relief efforts for those impacted by the devastating earthquake in Van, Turkey.
FCTA member associations are raising funds for this purpose. Among the initiatives:
- The Turkish Quebec Cultural and Friendship Association will be donating a portion of the proceeds from its October 29 Turkish Republic Day Ball
- Turkish Canadian Society has a fundraising event in Vancouver on October 29th, as well as an online donation campaign
- Turkish Society of Nova Scotia has a fundraising event in Halifax on October 29th
- Turkish Culture and Folklore Society of Canada will be donating a portion of the proceeds from its Turkish Republic Day Ball, being held October 30th in Concord, Ontario
- Canadian Turkish Islamic Heritage Association has an online/mail donation campaign
- Turkish Canadian Cultural Association of Calgary has a donation campaign
- Turkish Canadian Cultural Association has a November 6th event in Ottawa, as well as an online donation campaign
